Oil Change FAQ for Palmdale and Lancaster Drivers

You have questions before you pull into a shop. We answer them here. Below are the questions we hear most from Antelope Valley drivers about oil changes, brakes, batteries, tires, and the rest of our services across our three locations in Palmdale and Lancaster.

If your question is not listed, call the location closest to you or stop in. No appointment needed.

Drive-Thru Oil Change Service

How long does an oil change take at EZ Lube?

Most oil changes take 10 to 15 minutes from the moment you pull in to the moment you drive out. You stay in your car the entire time.

Do I need an appointment for an oil change in Palmdale or Lancaster?

No. All three EZ Lube locations are walk-in only. Pull up to the bay and a technician will get you started.

How does a drive-thru oil change work?

You pull into the service bay and stay in your driver's seat. A technician drains your oil from below, replaces the filter, and refills with your chosen oil. You pay through the window and drive off.

What kind of motor oil does EZ Lube use?

We use Castrol and Mobil 1 motor oils. Both are premium brands trusted by automakers for engine protection in extreme heat and high-mileage conditions.

Do you offer full synthetic oil changes?

Yes. We offer conventional, synthetic blend, full synthetic, and high-mileage oil options. We match the oil grade to your vehicle's manufacturer specifications.

How often should I change my oil in Palmdale or Lancaster?

Most modern vehicles need an oil change every 5,000 to 7,500 miles with synthetic oil, or every 3,000 to 5,000 miles with conventional oil. Antelope Valley heat, dust, and freeway commuting wear oil down faster, so check your dipstick monthly. See more car care tips for high desert driving.

Will you pressure me into extra services I don't need?

No. EZ Lube runs on pressure-free service. We tell you what your vehicle needs based on manufacturer recommendations and what we see during inspection. The decision is yours.

Do you service electric vehicles and hybrids?

Yes. We service hybrid vehicles using the correct oil specifications and offer EV drive unit service for fully electric vehicles.

Why Choose EZ Lube

How is EZ Lube different from Jiffy Lube, Valvoline, and Grease Monkey?

EZ Lube is locally owned and operated in the Antelope Valley. We do not work off corporate upsell quotas. We use Castrol and Mobil 1, the same premium oils the big chains charge a premium for, and we tell you only what your vehicle actually needs.

Why does freeway commuting matter for oil changes?

Stop-and-go traffic on the 14 Freeway, high desert heat, and dust all break down motor oil faster than normal driving. If you commute to Los Angeles or Santa Clarita daily, plan for more frequent oil changes than the sticker on your windshield suggests.

Is EZ Lube a local business?

Yes. EZ Lube Oil Change is independently owned and operates exclusively in the Antelope Valley. Every dollar you spend stays local.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. We stand behind every service. If something is not right, bring the vehicle back to the location that performed the work and we will make it right.
